When and where is this event?
20 May, 2021. A Hybrid event: Online via the highly-interactive Hopin platform; and InPerson in Wroclaw, Poland.
Why such an Awards event?
The countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) are increasingly recognized as a primary location for investment by Japanese companies, in areas such as automotive, manufacturing, high-tech, business services, and energy. With Poland the strongest location in CEE Europe, other countries such as Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, and Slovakia are important investment destinations for Japanese firms. Additionally, Japan signed a Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union, with the Japan-EU EPA in effect since 2019. And lastly, with Brexit a reality, many Japanese companies are looking for alternative locations inside the EU.
Who will attend:
Yes, you can buy tickets for only the summit or only the awards gala. See the tab labeled "Tickets" on this website. However, given the opportunities for peer-to-peer networking, and for talking directly with executives and managers who already enjoy the benefits of shared service centers and outsourcing, we believe that your best bet is the full-day ticket. The full day ticket offers an exceptional qualitative experience as well as excellent value for money.
What happens at the awards gala?
The greatest priority at the awards gala is the opportunity to talk with the jurists, panelists and other attendees. In terms of shared services and outsourcing in Central & Eastern Europe, this is a peer-to-peer networking opportunity like no other. Representatives from a number of CEE governments will also be present, as well as officials from American Chambers of Commerce from throughout the region.
Why should my company submit a nomination?
We have found that the most savvy companies understand the public relations value and media attention from being distinguished at the very top of one's field. Past winners have used their nominations and awards to build esprit de corps and a sense of community, both internally and among clients and suppliers.
Winners do not take all. Each nomination that moves past the jury's first vote (to the short list) is also promoted via our media and our associated partners -- both before the award event and for several months after. You can see (from our earlier awards events in Poland) some of video here and photos here.
How many nomination categories are there?
You will find nominations in 14 categories.
Does it cost anything to submit a nomination?
No. Nominations are free of charge. Furthermore, nominations and award winners are independent of any sponsorship or partnership. We detest "paid for" awards events. Our event is fully independent and transparent.
What are the rules regarding nominations?
Anyone can nominate anyone and there is no limit to submitted nominations. However, we have found that the winning nominations are usually submitted by the candidate company itself, because they know best their organization. Nominations must be submitted online.
Who is on the jury? And why such a composition?
We like a large jury, and in 2021 we'll have more than 30 jurists. These Japanese large investors which have already invested in the CEE region. Therefore, they have notable experience in the location, staffing, and operation of shared service centers across the region and for an array of industry verticals.
